  6. I was quite surprised yesterday to see that one of the recent 
  7. offerings in the Interactive Fiction Archive was written by 
  8. me and dated 1985. The piece was called "Fable" and after an inquiry 
  9. to Volker Blasius I discovered that not only has this been bouncing 
  10. around the Net for years, it was even panned in a review.

  12. Just for the record, "Fable" was a sketch and never intended for full
  13. public release. I was helping Mark Welch beta test an adventure 
  14. game authoring system. I guess he needed a few concrete examples 
  15. to demo and he used my stuff. It was not a complete game, never 
  16. intended to be and I am a bit embarrassed to discover it on the 
  17. NET in this form.

  19. To give you all the proper historical context, that sketch was written
  20. on an IBM PCjr (!!!)

  22. Now that I know it is out there, I suspect I will have to dust off 
  23. the old files and actually write the full game. I think I will use
  24. a different game authoring system, however.

  26. As I told Volker, I'm not angry about this- just surprised and a 
  27. bit amused. To anyone who took "Fable" as a finished work ( or even 
  28. cared) this is a disclaimer. I did not think the work was finished and
  29. I never would have published it ot the Net in its present form.
